This concert marks the very first performance of this new project, which, despite itself, is fully in tune with the times. After a year of research, the quartet gathered in the studio to record an album that chronicles Renette’s experience in exile. Renette was forced to flee her country —ravaged by gang violence— after her plane was riddled with bullets upon landing in Port-au-Prince.

Before opening its doors, DÉRIVE introduces itself with a first event at LaVallée: an open-air & indoor evening moving through film, live concerts, DJ sets and the first fragments of what this future place will become.
For this introduction event, we bring together different formats and energies: a screening by Interzone, live performances from Qtee, Valium and Disco Degat, a DJ set by Monstera Occulta and Waffles Kru.

UN EX PRESS ED is a platform uniting artists through expression and interdisciplinary art. An evening of performance, music, film and visual art ; to connect, create and express.
Inspired by artists such as H.E.R., SZA, Jazmine Sullivan, Alicia Keys and Jhené Aiko, Joël approaches music as both a vocal and emotional exploration. Her songwriting reflects on vulnerability, love and personal growth, inviting listeners into stories that feel both intimate and universal.
After a two-year creative break, Joël returned to the studio with renewed clarity. Her comeback single “Serenity” marks the beginning of a new chapter; embracing individuality, opening up to love and rediscovering the joy of creating. This August 22nd, Joël will present her new EP, Rooted in love, live in its full emotional journey with the audience.
