Multidisciplinary artist based in Brussels, Darius Zoltan is the founder of the Arpège
and 10.60 Hz entities, both conceived as spaces where electronic music and digital creation are combined. The events series organised by Arpège over nearly five years were places of convergence and exchange, where multiple identities, approaches and artistic mediums were blended.
10.60 Hz, developed as a platform dedicated to broadcasting musical and visual
productions, also perfectly represents this desire to bring together diverse practices with the aim of creating new approaches and new perspectives.
All this work is based on a keen interest in research and a desire for ongoing training. With a constant desire to evolve and enrich his creative approach, Darius is regularly and
meticulously trained in new practices such as 3D printing and VR (Virtual Reality), which has become one of his favourite tools. His three-dimensional productions are partly based on his influences from the worlds of video games, artificial intelligence and robotics. By borrowing their codes and lexicons, he creates hybrid forms, artefacts and chimeras that seem to come from territories that are as disturbing as they are attractive. The characters he creates all have their own identity, characteristics and sometimes even items. He almost systematically thinks of them as part of a whole, in a territory that belongs to them, like the figure of the avatar in the video game that has carried him for many years. And now, turning to video games is the next step. He wants to design them, so that he can finally understand every last detail.
