Rooted in love – Live concert Joël Francis

Joël Francis, a Belgium-based artist whose sound blends soulful vocals, emotional storytelling and groove-driven melodies. Born in Suriname and raised between Suriname, the Netherlands and Belgium, her multicultural upbringing shaped an early curiosity for identity, emotion and human connection. Music became the one constant that helped make sense of a sometimes unpredictable and turbulent environment.

Inspired by artists such as H.E.R., SZA, Jazmine Sullivan, Alicia Keys and Jhené Aiko, Joël approaches music as both a vocal and emotional exploration. Her songwriting reflects on vulnerability, love and personal growth, inviting listeners into stories that feel both intimate and universal.

After a two-year creative break, Joël returned to the studio with renewed clarity. Her comeback single “Serenity” marks the beginning of a new chapter; embracing individuality, opening up to love and rediscovering the joy of creating. This August 22nd, Joël will present her new EP, Rooted in love, live in its full emotional journey with the audience.

Joël Francis est une artiste basée en Belgique dont le univers musical mêle une voix soul, des récits émouvants et des mélodies rythmées. Née au Suriname et ayant grandi entre le Suriname, les Pays-Bas et la Belgique, son éducation multiculturelle a nourri dès son plus jeune âge une curiosité pour l’identité, les émotions et les liens humains. La musique est devenue la seule constante qui lui a permis de donner un sens à un environnement parfois imprévisible et tumultueux.

Inspirée par des artistes telles que H.E.R., SZA, Jazmine Sullivan, Alicia Keys et Jhené Aiko, Joël aborde la musique comme une exploration à la fois vocale et émotionnelle. Ses compositions abordent la vulnérabilité, l’amour et l’épanouissement personnel, invitant les auditeurs à découvrir des histoires à la fois intimes et universelles.

Après une pause créative de deux ans, Joël est revenue en studio avec une vision renouvelée. Son single de retour, « Serenity », marque le début d’un nouveau chapitre : embrasser l’individualité, s’ouvrir à l’amour et redécouvrir la joie de créer. Le 22 août prochain, Joël présentera son nouvel EP Rooted in Love en live, partageant tout le parcours émotionnel avec le public.
