They say it is always quiet before the storm, and now that the winter is officially over, Tropic Thunder is ready to strike again, this time with notorious reinforcements.
For this third edition, La Vallée opens its doors for our heaviest lineup yet - four selectors, one dancefloor, no time to rest sitted.
Your hosts, Adam Baker and Alex Figueira hold down the eye of the storm as always, combining their years as both selectors and party organisers. And this time they're bringing two of the Brussels’ most formidable forces into the rotation.

Brussels’ 𝙇𝙖𝙑𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚́𝙚 invited Berlin’s 𝙈𝙄𝙇𝙆 𝙈𝙀 to co-curate an evening of Electronica, Wave, and bizarre, featuring local & international artists, engaging in exchange and inclusion.
Reparty #9 explores the bizarre, non-conventional side of electronic dance music for those more aligned to the peculiar and outlandish.

This concert marks the very first performance of this new project, which, despite itself, is fully in tune with the times. After a year of research, the quartet gathered in the studio to record an album that chronicles Renette’s experience in exile. Renette was forced to flee her country —ravaged by gang violence— after her plane was riddled with bullets upon landing in Port-au-Prince.

Inspired by artists such as H.E.R., SZA, Jazmine Sullivan, Alicia Keys and Jhené Aiko, Joël approaches music as both a vocal and emotional exploration. Her songwriting reflects on vulnerability, love and personal growth, inviting listeners into stories that feel both intimate and universal.

After a two-year creative break, Joël returned to the studio with renewed clarity. Her comeback single “Serenity” marks the beginning of a new chapter; embracing individuality, opening up to love and rediscovering the joy of creating. This August 22nd, Joël will present her new EP, Rooted in love, live in its full emotional journey with the audience.
