Born in Suriname and raised between Suriname\, the Netherlands and Belgium\, her multicultural upbringing shaped an early curiosity for identity\, emotion and human connection. Music became the one constant that helped make sense of a sometimes unpredictable and turbulent environment. \nInspired by artists such as H.E.R.\, SZA\, Jazmine Sullivan\, Alicia Keys and Jhené Aiko\, Joël approaches music as both a vocal and emotional exploration. Her songwriting reflects on vulnerability\, love and personal growth\, inviting listeners into stories that feel both intimate and universal. \nAfter a two-year creative break\, Joël returned to the studio with renewed clarity. Her comeback single “Serenity” marks the beginning of a new chapter; embracing individuality\, opening up to love and rediscovering the joy of creating.
