DESCRIPTION:Mentality In Dub returns for another round of dubby explorations ! This edition features the long-awaited Belgium debut of Pugilist\, joined by WhoDemSound founder J.Robinson. Completing the lineup are local selectors Dub Hotline and Roos\, all playing on the mighty Aleph Dub sound system. \n  \nDeeply rooted in sound system culture\, our « In Dub » sessions aim to be a place of experimentation for all kinds of dub-inspired music. A tribute to the sounds that shaped Mentality into what it is today. A way for us to continue pushing forward-thinking bass music whilst preserving its heritage. \n  \nAs always\, respect and equality are key. We are doing the utmost to make sure our events take place in a safe environment with room for experimentation and dialogue. A place where everyone can be themselves regardless of physical\, ethical and/or theological differences. \n  \nWe are requiring everyone to respect each other’s personal boundaries during our events.

SUMMARY:Concert : Don Kapot & Renette Désir
DESCRIPTION:Mojo describes Don Kapot’s music: “The Brussels trio’s grooves go blurringly hard\, offset by quieter fluctuating nuances”. Giotis Damianidis (bass\, guitar and effects)\, Viktor Perdieus (saxophone and miscellaneous instruments) and Jakob Warmenbol (drums\, percussion and electronic samples) co-create songs that are  “sometimes angular\, often hypnotic\, always with the head on”\, according to Knack (BE). \nSinger Renette Désir is kind of a star in her home country\, Haiti. A difficult journey brought her to Brussels in March 2025\, via New York\, where she met Don Kapot. \n  \nAfter a year of research\, the quartet gathered in the studio to record an album that chronicles Renette’s experience in exile. Renette was forced to flee her country —ravaged by gang violence— after her plane was riddled with bullets upon landing in Port-au-Prince. \n  \nThis concert marks the very first performance of this new project\, which\, despite itself\, is fully in tune with the times. \n  \nThe album will be released on W.E.R.F. Records in November. \nTO MARK THE OCCASION\, ADMISSION IS FREE.

Born in Suriname and raised between Suriname\, the Netherlands and Belgium\, her multicultural upbringing shaped an early curiosity for identity\, emotion and human connection. Music became the one constant that helped make sense of a sometimes unpredictable and turbulent environment. \nInspired by artists such as H.E.R.\, SZA\, Jazmine Sullivan\, Alicia Keys and Jhené Aiko\, Joël approaches music as both a vocal and emotional exploration. Her songwriting reflects on vulnerability\, love and personal growth\, inviting listeners into stories that feel both intimate and universal. \nAfter a two-year creative break\, Joël returned to the studio with renewed clarity. Her comeback single “Serenity” marks the beginning of a new chapter; embracing individuality\, opening up to love and rediscovering the joy of creating.
